Hi St. Louis Buckeyes,

Congratulations to the Buckeye Women who won the Big Ten Tournament on Sunday beating Iowa. The Men start Tournament play on Friday, 3/12, at 11AM against the winner of the Michigan/Iowa game the previous day. Saturday's game is at 12:40 and Sunday's is at 2:30. We will again gather at BWW to cheer on the Buckeyes for as long as they stay in the Big Ten Tournament. We hope to see you there.

When basketball is over, our club moves on to our annual meeting to be held on April 29th at 6:30 at Pujols 5 Grill in Westport. Our speakers this year are Heather McGinnis and Tracy Stuck who will introduce us to our New Ohio Union. Their presentation will cover the history of the Ohio Union, why a new building was needed, and an update on the building project. Come take a visual tour of the New Ohio Union with us. We will have appetizers and desserts for only $15 per person for club members and $20 per person for non-members.

We try to start our membership year around the time of our annual meeting so don't forget to send your membership dues ($20 per family) to Josh Bergman, 333 Atalanta Ave, St. Louis, MO 63119, or you can pay online at stlbuckeyes.com. In addition to supporting our scholarship and activities with your membership dues, you will be eligible to purchase football tickets in the club block (You must also be a member of OSUAA). We also offer one free 50-50 raffle ticket at each game watch to members and discounts to some activities such as the annual meeting.

The scholarship committee has just completed the application and interview process with four outstanding students from the area. We are offering two scholarships this year, and our rankings have been sent to OSU. We should get the final results as soon as the students make their commitments. Steve Bolland and his committee have met a lot of area students through the scholarship process and by representing OSU at seven area college fairs and student receptions. This is a great way to see first hand what outstanding young men and women are heading to Ohio State. If anyone is interested in helping with this group, please let us know.

The leadership group is looking for help in all areas. Although the football game watches are still the most popular function, our club members have generously donated their time to the Ronald McDonald House Tab Top Pandamonium, their food to the RMH family room at Children's Hosp, and their money to the 50-50 raffle and fundraisers for our scholarships. It has been a great year with the OSU St. Louis club making our presence known in the community. We have met prospective students, their families, representatives of Ohio State, leaders of community organizations, and other Big Ten club members. The officers and committee members have organized the activities of the club, and I so appreciate their time and hard work. It has been a pleasure to work with them. However, as anything grows, more help is needed. The leadership group meets about 3-4 time a year and communicates via e-mail for the day to day business. We have one-time events that require a bit of planning and ongoing offices and committees that are not terribly time consuming, but continue throughout the year. The leadership group will be meeting on March 21st at 4 PM to plan the annual meeting. If anyone is interested in getting involved in leadership, please let me know (simon.jk@sbcglobal.net) or plan to attend our meeting on the 21st.

More information will be coming out about the annual meeting in April and the Ronald McDonald House Tab Top Pandamonium in May. I hope to see you there and at the game watches.

Happy spring and GO BUCKS!
Judy
