Scholarship

We have reached our goal of endowing one scholarship thanks to the generosity of our members through the 50-50 raffle and other fundraising efforts! In 2010 the St. Louis club is adding a second scholarship for $1000. The requirements and application process are the same as the $1600 Alumni Scholars Program scholarship. After reviewing the written applications and completing the interviews, the student with the highest score will receive the ASP scholarship and the one with the second highest will receive the new Club scholarship. Our club has endowed one $1600 annual scholarship for a freshman ($1000 from the club and $600 from the Univeristy through the Alumni Scholars Program). The area students who have been accepted by OSU have been sent the application. The scholarship committee will evaluate the applications and have personal interviews with the top students. The scholarship winner will be decided by the end of March. We raise the money for that scholarship in the following ways: 50-50 raffle The raffle tickets are sold at each watch party with half of the money collected going to the scholarship fund, 25% going to the 1st place winner, 15% to 2nd place, and 10% to 3rd place. We raise most of the $1000 with the 50-50 raffle. Account #480224 Another way to contribute is to donate directly to the account. If you are sending a donation to OSU or your college, you can specify that all or a portion of that donation go to the OSU Alumni Club of St. Louis account #480224. In the past, we have had various items for sale to help support the scholarship fund. We are presently looking for an interesting item - like the luggage tag, candle, or Christmas ornament we have had in the past. If anyone has an idea, please let one of the officers know.
